Major Minor Week 2022: A One-stop Exploration Platform for Students
“Major Minor Week 2022” was held successfully via Zoom from 24 – 28 January 2022, with the kind support from the Faculty Academic Advising Co-ordinators, Faculty administrative staff, over 30 Faculty Student Advisers and AASO Friends from various Faculties. Special thanks to CEDARS (Careers and Placement Section) for the continued support in cohosting the opening talk and we were most delighted to have Common Core Office joining us as the latest addition to our sharing sessions, introducing the Transdisciplinary Minors.
Despite the pandemic situation and hybrid learning mode, around 280 students joined the opening talk and different sharing sessions throughout the week. Every day of the week, AASO Adviser started the sharing session with an informative presentation about tips and online tools for selecting majors/ minors, then senior students studying in different majors/ minors would share their experience on learning and academic planning in the form of interactive Q&A breakout session. Faculty administrative staff also attended to address students’ questions regarding requirements, policies and regulations as well.
We are glad that the “Major Minor Week 2022″ has continued to serve as an “One-stop Exploration Platform” for students. Through the week-long event, we assisted students in making informed academic choices regarding their majors/ minors by providing useful information, peer network and a wide array of study planning tools.
