Welcome on board!
At HKU, every undergraduate student is supported by a Faculty Academic Adviser (FAA) – an academic staff member from your home Faculty who offers guidance on academic matters. Some Faculties also appoint Faculty Student Advisers (FSA) – senior students who help you transition into university life by sharing their experience and advice.
FAA/FSA Sign-up Schedule 2026-27
| Architecture*, Arts (double-degree programmes), Business School, Engineering, Law, Science, Social Sciences, Computing and Data Science, Future Media | Aug 10 (Mon) 2pm – Aug 18 (Tue) 10am | Sign up via https://ugaa.hku.hk/signup-faa.php.
The system will automatically assign an FAA if you do not sign up by the deadline(s). |
| Arts (single-degree programmes) | Aug 14 (Fri) 2pm – Aug 21 (Fri) 10am |
*Students from the Faculty of Architecture are only required to sign up for an FAA.
Manual Assignment
Students from the following Faculties / Schools will have their FAAs manually assigned by their respective Faculty / School: Dentistry, Education, Medicine, Biomedical Engineering and Innovation. You will receive notification from your Faculty/School in due course.
